2023 Samantha Mason Friendship Awards
Congratulations to the four deserving young people who were awarded the 2023 Samantha Mason Friendship Awards through the Winnipeg Blue Bombers!
This year’s award recipients are Ayub Farah, Isabel Carter, Ollie Hogg, & Cora McBeth.
The Samantha Mason Friendship Award was created by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in memory of our Samantha Mason, who was a victim of bullying at her school in Winnipeg.
Nominees for the award are youth ages 17 or younger who have taken action within their school or community to eliminate bullying by embracing the core values of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers Kindness Pledge:
- I have the power to make a difference. I will not be a bully or a bystander.
- I can help change the way others are treated in my school, my community and online.
- Everyone is worthy of friendship, support and respect, therefore, I will choose to share kindness and hope instead of hate and hurt.
- I have the power to change the story from hate to hope
